Grouse

We saw some grouse the other day, and we finally got the photos up. They are a wierd bird. They are kinda like a turkey, they don't fly real well. Some people we were talking to, said they have seen them fly half way up a hill, then walk the rest.

The road they were on was a 4x4 only road. We tried it in the escape, and it made it!! There were some mountains where it spun its tires getting up the hill though. And some monster holes. If it had rained, it may have gotten stuck. It was a fun road though. We thought it was a small side detour to get away from the vice president traffic (Dick Cheney was in town this weekend), and it took almost 3 hours. We thought maybe 30 minutes :)

Everything is going good out here. The season is wrapping up, and things are closing up this week. Tomorrow is our last cookout day here. Now it's time to get the fall projects started. Hope everyone is doing good everywhere they are. Greg

We were the only ones that saw this female elk today. We drove past her, and there was some traffic, so we pulled over a little down the road and let them pass. We then turned around, and got some good shots of her near the road.
